Welcome to the January 2012 edition of the WSTC newsletter.
The focus of this month's newsletter is the Elbow, with comments on the topics important role at the WSTC 2012 provided by Dr. Luigi Pederzini.
"The elbow joint is integral to the sporting activity of athletes like tennis players or baseball players who train every day in order to increase their quality level.
The high frequency and intensity of training and competition can lead to overuse syndromes that can decrease the quality level of the athlete.
WSTC 2012 will provide a great arena to highlight diagnostical and therapeutical approaches to sports pathologies such as epicondilar pain, condral problems, and consequent degenerative stiff elbow. Many of the most experienced surgeons on elbow surgery will be involved in order to outline guidelines on these difficult problems. Open or arthroscopic treatment? How to approach chronic or acute cases. How to treat medial and lateral instability. How to treat osteocondritis dissecans.
We will try to answer these difficult and sometimes controversial questions by compairing different methods and techniques."
